Cartoons or Anime?

Cartoons
The word cartoon has various meanings, based on several very different forms of visual art and illustration. The term has evolved over time.
The original meaning was in fine art, and there cartoon meant a preparatory drawing for a piece of art such as a painting.
The artists who draw cartoons are known as cartoonists.

Anime
is an abbreviation of the English word "animation", originating in Japan through the roots of manga.[1][2] Although the term is used in Japan to refer to animation in general, in English usage the term most popularly refers to material originating from Japan, a subset of animation.[3]

Anime is traditionally hand drawn, but computer assisted techniques have become quite common in recent years. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, and internet-based releases, and represents all genres of fiction.

The difference is Cartoons are less violent and are watched by kids. Animes are japanese made (from a manga series), violent but others aren't and are watched by both kids and adults
